Terms

We do not like many country house hotels have a 24 hour manned reception. This means if your stay involves you returning later than 11.20 PM at night please do not book a room with us. Within the building at night if you require assistance we provide a contact point for our night supervisor but we do not permit guests re-enter into the building after 11.20 PM.   This is for security and so as not to disturb the sleep of other guests.

Arrival and Departure: Check in at 3PM, check out at 10.30AM. The hotel is open for customers from 7.30AM, food served from 12 mid day until 2.30PM, later by booking. If you have to check in earlier, telephone us on the day and check if the room will be available earlier, if we can we will.

Children: Child Z beds in three of our rooms are available and are restricted to a maximum age of 14 years. A nightly Z bed additional charge of £35 per bed/child is made to cover bedding and breakfast costs. Z beds are restricted to the Belstone, Bovey room and the Chagford Room.

Pets: Sorry but we do not allow pets in our hotel guest rooms. Dogs on leads under control are allowed in our 1477 Bar and Gardens

Smoking and Vapeing : Only in our outside smoking areas, if a customers smokes or vapes inside our building there is a £250 fine to cover costs of cleaning and re-settting our smoke alarm system

Special arrangements: If a customer requires anything special to be done, please confirm it to  us in writing or by email.:

Oxenham Arms Gift Vouchers: If you want to pay using gift vouchers please let us know when you arrive at the hotel to enable us to organise the refund of them.

Discounts: Discounts, offers and promotions that we may offer on our own direct Website, our Brochures, advertising or verbally are only available if booking direct with our hotel and not available if booking via any 3rd party company, website or booking agency.

Property and Cars

Any loss or damage to your property whilst onsite or loss or damage to your vehicle whilst onsite is the responsibility of the customer/guest.

Reservations and cancellations

All room ( room and breakfast charges ) must be paid for when booking. Customers arriving who have not previously paid will be charged on arrival.A deposit of 100 % of the total charge will be debited to your credit or debit card on completion of this process; Our cancellation terms are :If a booking is cancelled less than 7 days before arrival then a charge equal to the full booking amount will be made. In the event of a no show or booking reduction (after arrival date) the full cost of the booking is charged. All rooms are offered subject to them being available on receipt of successfull completion of credit or debit card payment Please note that any cancellation by you of a reservation must be notified to us in writing or by email and will take effect on the day it is received by us. We do advise you to take holiday insurance to cover the cost of your deposit and holiday.

 Amendments and changes to room booking dates: Any change or amendment to the arrival date on a room booking will be accommodated on a single ( one room only ) booking if another suitable date is available for that room and provided the amendment is made 7 days or more in advance.

Amendments and changes on Multiple Room Bookings ( more than one room booked by the same customer as one booking ): On multiple room bookings any change or amendment will only be possible if the amendment or change is requested more than 28 days in advance of stay and if rooms are available. Only 1 change from the original booked date will be permitted. If a customer requests a change or cancellation of a multi room of a booking date any monies paid to the hotel for the room bookings are then non refundable under any circumstances due to the high potential for loss of revenue caused to the hotel by that change. If a second or further change or changes of date or cancellation are requested any monies paid to the hotel ( deposits or full payments ) will be non refundable.

Damage to hotel property: Any damage to hotel property whether deliberate, accidental or through negligence of a guest or customer will be immediately chargable to the customer.  Charges wil be charged to the customer debit / credit card. Chargeable amounts will be supported by receipts to cover replacement of items damaged and associated labor costs and these receipts will be made available to the customer upon request.

 Payment of Accounts: A signed credit card imprint will be required on arrival for further charges such as telephone calls, drinks etc, and any outstanding charges on departure will be debited. Accounts can be settled in cash, MASTERCARD, VISA, DELTA or MAESTRO, DINERS  Credit cards are authorised on arrival. Cheques (personal or company) will not be accepted. Rooms are normally charged for after purchase alternatively a pre authorisation may be taken. See cancellations for cancellation and refund policy.
