Walking routes from The Oxenham Arms

The Oxenham Arms Hotel in conjunction with local Dartmoor guides has produced a series of DL size pocket guides on beautiful walks from The Oxenham Arms Hotel within the Dartmoor National Park available for guests and customers. Simply ask at our reception or bar.

Many spectacular walks and cycling routes are on our doorstep including the famous Dartmoor Way Walking and Cycling routes.

We also offer the services of an experienced Walking Guide, Mark Cockram. Mark is able to take you on guided local short and long walks on Dartmoor. Mark is a former RAF Mountain Rescue Team member among many other qualifications.         Please Email him directly at markcockram68@yahoo.co.uk

Immediately around The Oxenham Arms Hotel, South Zeal Stores, Sticklepath Shop offer local items of produce and gifts, there are other pubs and attractions ' en route' on many of the walks. St Mary's Church and St Andrew's Church are just a 2 minute walk away.

1] Walk from South Zeal up to Belstone village alongside the Taw River and Skaigh "Belstone Cleave" ( Allow 3 hours )

2] Walk from South Zeal up to the Dartmoor Cosdon Beacon prehistoric "Cosdon Stone Row" (Allow 2-3 hours)

3] Walk via a short car drive to Easdon Down and Hunters Tor ( Allow 3-4 hours)

4] Walk via a short car drive to Black- a Tor Copse and Meldon Reservoir  ( Allow 3-4 hours)

5] Walk via a short car drive to Grimspound and Challacombe ( Allow 4-5 hours )
